Who We Are

Open Skies RV is made by Esmeralda and Rolando Cornejo of Top Rank ROI LLC, a small company in California. We explain renting, driving, camping in and caring for an RV using official sources such as NHTSA, the EPA, the CPSC, the National Park Service and Recreation.gov, and we tell you where your state’s rules live.

Why we made this site

Renting or buying an RV comes with a pile of questions that rarely get a straight, sourced answer: Is this RV under an open recall? How old are these tires? How do I book a campsite before it sells out? Where do I dump the tanks? Do I need a different license? Most free help online is written to sell a rental, a warranty or a gadget. We built Open Skies RV to put the steps in order and point you to the agency or manual that actually answers each one.

What we cover

• First rentals: what to check at pickup and return, and the questions to ask the owner or rental company.
• Safety checks: open recalls by VIN, tire age and pressure, carbon monoxide and propane.
• Camping: booking federal campsites on Recreation.gov and planning RV stays in national parks.
• Driving rules: how to find out whether your state requires a different license class for a large RV, with state examples labeled by state.
• Upkeep: emptying holding tanks the right way, and estimating trip fuel cost with your own numbers.
• Rent or buy: the questions to answer before you decide.

What we don’t do

• We don’t give legal, insurance, financial or mechanical advice for your situation. We explain the rules and link the source; your RV’s manual, the agency or a qualified technician applies them to you.
• We don’t sell insurance, extended service plans, warranties or loans, and we don’t take referral fees from those companies.
• We don’t invent mileage, prices or test results, and we don’t promise a campsite, a repair outcome or savings.
• When we mention our own company’s services, we label it plainly as our own.

Our mission

We only speak the truth. We only help within the category we cover. We always cite our sources, and we’re friendly and easy to do business with. Our objective is to help you find a better alternative, or to confirm that your present choice is already your best choice. We’re creative in how we explain things, but we never exaggerate: we say only what’s true, and nothing misleading or unverified.

How we use AI here

We use AI tools to help research, outline and draft. A person checks every fact against its source before anything is published, and each guide lists its sources with the date we checked them. Our illustrations were made with AI image tools and are labeled “Illustrative image”; they don’t show real people, campgrounds or RV brands.
